About Our FoundationRaising Awareness, Increasing Education, and Providing Support for Women and Children Battling Ovarian and Pediatric Cancer.
MISSION & VISION
Our goal is to raise awareness through education and provide financial support to women battling ovarian cancer and children battling pediatric cancer, DIPG.
“Our family has been personally and deeply affected by Ovarian and Pediatric Cancers. We have been inspired to fight alongside those still fighting and mourn alongside those who are mourning. We believe that where much is given, much is required. We know that we accomplish the most by working together with our friends, family, and community by serving those in need with kindness, charity, and hope.”

We hope that one day women and children will no longer suffer and be spared from ovarian cancer and DIPG. Until that day arrives, we are committed to providing support and hope to those in need.
Early detection is key to diagnosing and successfully treating ovarian cancer. Sadly, few testing options are available, and insurance does not cover most screenings.
WOMEN DESERVE BETTER.
DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), also known as Brainstem Glioma, is a type of tumor that starts in the brain stem and account for about 10-20 percent of all childhood brain cancers. Unfortunately, the survival rate for DIPG remains very low. At this time, there is no cure for this tumor.
CHILDREN DESERVE BETTER.
Who We Are
Our Team & Leadership
Ovarian and pediatric cancer are two of the deadliest diseases facing women and children every year. Early detection and awareness are crucial elements in achieving successful diagnosis and treatment outcomes. When a central Florida family experienced the tragic loss of three women to ovarian cancer and three children to pediatric cancer, they knew it was time to take action. Established in HOPE, the M Family Foundation found a way to provide direct support to women and children in need.
David Marcantel, MD
Founded in pro-life values, Dr. David A. Marcantel decided at a young age that his calling in life was to care for women bringing children into the world.
He was born in Louisiana and spent his childhood between Louisiana, Texas, and the Panama Canal Zone. After earning his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine, he laid roots in Celebration, Florida, where he has enjoyed raising his children and serving the community.
Over the years, Dr. Marcantel has taken an active role in hospital leadership. In 2011, he saw a need in the community for pediatric services and decided to open Celebration Pediatrics. Over his years in practice, Dr. Marcantel continued to face complex cases of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Sadly, on May 14, 2012, he lost his sweet mother, Rebecca, to ovarian cancer. At this moment, he knew he was being called by a higher power to serve.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and five sons, attending services at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and serving as a founding member of the M Family Foundation. His hobbies include art, travel, golf, and sports.
