How We Got Started
Ovarian Cancer and Pediatric Cancer are two of the most deadly diseases facing women and children every year. Early detection and awareness are crucial elements in achieving successful diagnosis and treatment. When a central Florida family experienced the tragic loss of three women to Ovarian Cancer and three children to Pediatric Cancer, they knew it was time to take action. Established in HOPE, the M Family Foundation established a way to provide direct support to the women and children in need.
Our Founders
David Marcantel, MD
A Celebration, FL resident since 1998, Dr. David Marcantel was born in Louisiana. He currently heads several medical practices as well as a software company and is a dedicated community leader.
He received his BS from LSU and his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He is a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, volunteers for local charities, and serves on the board of the Celebration Youth Football League.
Kelly M. McCarthy
Kelly M. McCarthy has more than 20 years of experience in investment banking. Ms. McCarthy began her career as a money manager for high-net-worth individuals and institutions at Global Capital Securities Corporation, a full-service investment banking and brokerage firm. Later she was promoted to be the firm’s Vice President of Corporate Finance.
Over the last 15 years, Ms. McCarthy has served on both private and public boards. In 2007, she was distinguished with a “Forty Under 40” leadership award from the Orlando Business Journal.
Thomas W. Meury
Thomas graduated with a degree in Biology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and received his MBA from Northeastern University. He comes to Medinex with a 20 year background in operations and finance.
Thomas has been the COO of a Swiss manufacturing company since 1988 and the CFO of Infusion Capital since 2003. In both companies, his role was critical to the success as he led both to profitability and assisted our clients in their financial model. Thomas enjoys food and traveling.
